Alto Tech Geek premiered in 2009, which makes it among the earliest active design sites online. The website was launched by creator Penny Stallone as a composite of experimental park and portfolio site. Penny’s blog articles immediately became popular, as a result of the social networks of this time such as Digg, Delicious, and StumbleUpon. From the end of 2009, over 100,000 visitors were visiting the website each month to browse the blog articles.

Through time, Alto Tech Geek became famous as a go-to resource of design inspiration and tools. The store (initially called Alto Tech Hub) was added to the website in 2012. Regular contributors besides Penny were brought to the very first time in 2015.

As of 2021, Alto Tech Geek has served over 50 million people since its launch over a decade past. Though much has changed in the market during this time and lots of design sites have come and gone, we are proud to be still providing subscribers with inspiration and resources, and we are excited about the near future.
